Community / Torch-lit procession lights up Cullivoe

CULLIVOE played host to the welcome sight of a torch-lit Up Helly Aa procession last night (Friday).

As part of a modified Cullivoe Up Helly Aa the procession in Yell was followed by live music at the local hall.

Under the name of the Raven Banner Ball, a dinner dance with the James Leask Band will be held tonight.

No Up Helly Aas have taken place in their full form since the Covid pandemic struck in 2020, but fire festivals across the isles are planning to return in 2023.
