Marine / Cruising season gets underway
THE 2022 cruising season is underway after the arrival of a sail training vessel.
The 109m Gann arrived in the town earlier this morning (Tuesday) after a trip from Stavanger. She is due to depart for Kirkwall tonight.
The 2022 cruise season had been due to kick off in February but the weather had different ideas.
The first cruise liner proper to visit Lerwick will be the larger 229m Viking Venus on 6 April.
There are more than 120 cruise calls in Lerwick scheduled for this year, while there are also visits planned for Fair Isle and Baltasound.
