Coronavirus / Isles record 16 new Covid cases
THE recent spike in Covid cases locally shows no sign of abating as 16 new cases have been confirmed of the previous 24-hour period.
The islands seven-day rate per 100,000 population continues to rise and stands now at 279.8, the highest prevalence among NHS island boards.
Scotland-wide 6,152 new cases were detected from just over 51,000 Covid tests carried out, 122 people have been taken to hospital and 11 died with Covid over the last 24 hours.
