Community / Unst castle sells at auction for more than £180,000
MUNESS Castle in Unst and its surrounding land is set to be sold for £184,000 after an online auction today (Friday).
It means crofting tenants in the area will have a new landowner once the sale goes through.
The auction listing previously said the sale included 240 acres of land, but it has since been changed to 160 acres.
Offers on the 16th century castle and land began at £130,000.
Historic Environment Scotland, which maintains the castle, said its arrangements would not be affected by the sale of the land.
