Emergency services / Man taken to hospital after road accident
A MAN was taken to hospital with back injuries on Tuesday afternoon after a one-vehicle road accident near to Sandwick.
The police said the man’s van left the A970 road and collided with a concrete block at around 2.30pm.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 2.29pm on Tuesday, November 12 to reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision on A970 South near Sandwick, Shetland.
“One person was released prior to our arrival and taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters made the area and vehicle safe before leaving the scene.”
