News / Freeview retuning warning
TELEVISION viewers in Shetland have been reminded that they may have to retune their Freeview equipment next week.
Service will be interrupted on Wednesday (26 July) as engineering work on local transmitters gets underway as part of a nationwide project to move some channels to new airwaves to enable future development of mobile broadband services.
BBC One, BBC Two, STV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 will be disrupted for some local viewers between 9am and mid-afternoon.
After this, anyone missing channels should retune their equipment.
Around 2,000 households in Shetland are expected to be affected, but the work will not involve the Bressay transmitter.
Freeview will also be running a campaign including advertising and on-screen messages to prepare people for the change.
