News / Charity cash stolen in museum break-in
POLICE are investigating reports that charity donation money worth several hundreds of pounds was stolen from the Shetland Museum in Lerwick following a break-in overnight.
The front window of the building was smashed during the incident, which happened between 10pm on Thursday and Friday morning.
Police said initial investigations have revealed that a charity donation barrel was taken.
Staff have since boarded up the smashed window pane.
Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious overnight is asked to contact the Lerwick Police Station via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
