News / Town toilets trashed
THE PUBLIC toilets at Lerwick’s Gilbertson Park have been shut after vandals caused damage on Tuesday night.
Shetland’s chief of police has appealed for witnesses to come forward with information about who may caused the damage.
“This is a needless act which has caused this community facility to be closed to the public for repair at a time when we are welcoming people to visit Shetland attend events and share in the facilities we have,” chief inspector Lindsay Tulloch said.
“I would ask anyone who may have heard anything, seen anyone at the Gilbertson Park during this time or may have knowledge of who is responsible for causing the damage to the toilets to contact the police at Lerwick Police Station.”
