News / Review of care at ARI
ISLES MSP Tavish Scott has welcomed news that an independent review of the quality of care at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is to be carried out.
Health Improvement Scotland is to review the leadership, culture, values and behaviour at ARI and a report on the findings is expected to be published later this year.
“The independent assessment of care at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is very much needed,” Scott said.
“I know from a number of Shetland cases that there are issues to address. Some constituents have been waiting too long for both appointments and treatment and have faced cancellations where staff have not been available.”
He added: “Travel from Shetland is a further issue that local people have to factor in and delays can lead to further pressure on what is such a vital service. We need the NHS to be operating as efficiently as possible and therefore this independent review of care is an important step forward.”
