News / Dealer to expect jail

A LERWICK drug dealer has been warned to prepare himself for jail when he appears for sentencing before the town’s sheriff court on 4 March.

On Thursday Ryan Galbraith, whose bail address was given as 9 Nordavatn, pled guilty to a charge of intending to supply amphetamine, at an address in Lerwick on 9 February last year.

The 20 year old had previously admitted supplying cannabis resin at a number of addresses in the town between 1 September 2012 and 9 February 2013.

Both pleas will be treated as having been made at the earliest opportunity.

Asking for social work reports, Sheriff Philip Mann told Galbraith that there was a “distinct possibility’ for a prison term.
