Still no trace of missing man

THE SEARCH for Shetland crofter Colin Arnot is still ongoing, police said on Wednesday morning.

The 54 year old was last seen on Monday evening in North Roe where he farms alpacas.

Shetland’s coastguard rescue helicopter and four teams of coastguard auxiliaries spent all day on Tuesday from 8am searching Shetland’s north mainland.

He was reported missing after 7pm on Monday and is believed to have been driving a green Mitsubishi Shogun Pinn 4×4 registration number X699 VYA.

Arnot is a tall man around six feet two inches, well built with a short beard and grey hair who speaks with an English accent.

He is known to suffer from health problems, which have raised the level of concern for his wellbeing.

Area inspector chief inspector Angus McInnes said on Tuesday: “We are very concerned for him and would appeal for anyone who knows where he is or who may have seen him to get in touch with us on 101.”

The police believe Arnot may have travelled outside Northmavine and are now appealing for people throughout the islands to keep their eyes peeled for the missing man.
