News / Man reported after car crash
A FIFTY seven year old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal after a three vehicle road accident at the junction of Scalloway Road and King Harald Street on Saturday evening. No one was injured in the crash but one person was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
During the early hours of Sunday morning a 39 year old man was arrested after refusing to give a breath test when police suspected he had been drinking, and he too is being reported to the procurator fiscal.
Local police are investigating reports of a damaged bothy in the Bixter area. The owner discovered the damage when he returned to the building after being away for two months so the damage must have been caused during this period.
Meanwhile investigations continue into damage caused to a Ford Focus in Leaside, Mossbank, overnight on Friday and Saturday.
Police said the car’s owner had only recently arrived in Shetland and the reason for the vandalism is unknown.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 01595 692110.
