SHETLAND’S women footballers will travel to the Central Belt this weekend to face Musselburgh Windsor in the next round of the Scottish Cup.
The two sides will meet on Sunday 20 September at 2pm at the Pinkie playing fields in Musselburgh.
The blues were drawn away to the side, who are located outside of Edinburgh, for the first round proper of the cup competition.
It marks the longest ever away trip for the side, who created history by overcoming Aberdeen West End 3-1 last month to go further in the Scottish Cup than ever before.
They also beat Stewarton Annick 3-0 in Lerwick in the previous preliminary round.
The blues have named a squad of 16 players for the fixture as they aim to reach the second round of the famous cup competition.
Meanwhile the Shetland under-12s and under-15s lasses are also in Orkney this weekend to face Orkney in the annual inter-county.
A RARE poster for The Smiths’ headline performance at the Clickimin Leisure Centre in Lerwick has sold at auction for over £7,000.
The Mancunian four-piece opened the Clickimin on 28 September 1985 while on a seven-date tour of Scotland.
That came shortly after the release of their second studio album, Meat is Murder, and just months before they would release The Queen is Dead.
The poster was included in an auction of guitars and other memorabilia by former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, sold this week through auctioneers Christies.

Despite having a price estimate of between £2,000-£3,000, the poster went on to be sold for more than double that – realising a total price of £7,040.
The total collection was sold for £3.6 million, with the money from the poster sale being split between two charities – The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and The National Autistic Society.
A MEETING of pelagic fisheries representatives from the UK, EU, Faroe islands, Iceland and Norway was held on 16 September.
They discussed ways of improving the management of mackerel, blue whiting, and Atlanto-Scandian/Norwegian spring spawning herring.
The group, which was established earlier this year, held wide-ranging talks on the current fisheries management landscape for these three species, including a discussion on scientific surveys and the importance of fishing industry data feeding into stock assessments.
It also discussed the importance of encouraging national governments to take swifter action in pursuing the implementation of sustainable management plans for stocks.
Scottish Pelagic Fishermen’s Association chief Ian Gatt said the group “provides a platform for discussing how to improve the long-term management to ensure a sustainable future for these key stocks and the fishing communities that depend on them.”
The group will meet again in October to continue discussions.
