Transport / NorthLink announce latest weather-related timetable amendments
AS THE weather continues to play havoc with NorthLink’s schedule, the ferry operator has issued its late timetable amendments to keep the service operating during the weekend.
Tonight’s (Saturday) southbound service, due to depart Lerwick at 7pm, will now only leave at 11pm and is likely to arrive at Aberdeen up to three hours behind schedule.
The northbound sailing to Kirkwall and Lerwick will depart Aberdeen at 5pm as scheduled.
Then on Sunday, the service will operate despite earlier warnings that it might be cancelled.
Heading north, the Hrossey, will depart from Aberdeen at the earlier time of 2pm and sail directly to Lerwick where she is expected to arrive in the early hours of Monday.
The scheduled call at Kirkwall has been cancelled.
The southbound Hjaltland will leave Lerwick harbour at the earlier time of 5pm and is expected to arrive in Aberdeen on schedule.
There will also be delays in the freight service over the weekend, while all sailings for Monday – passenger and freight vessels – are under review.
