Letters / Have you also had no response from Loganair?

This is an appeal to those who were impacted by the Loganair flight cancellations caused by poor weather during Christmas and again in early January to come forward and join forces.

My own experience is as follows: When we returned to Shetland after a two-day delay in Aberdeen in early January, I lodged a claim for reimbursement of expenses by mid-January.

Since filing that claim, I have contacted Loganair customer service several times, but I still have had no update on reimbursement.

Initially, Loganair customer service stated that it would take 42 days to respond but it is now 60 days and I have received no further information about reimbursement.

When I called the customer service, I received the following response: “Your case is “‘alive’ but we cannot say when it will be dealt with, we apologise”.

In early March, Loganair chief commercial officer Ronnie Matheson stated in a press release that almost 180 flights that were grounded across Scotland over a 10-day period in January and most of those flights were to or from Sumburgh.

It is clear that Loganair has received many claims for reimbursement.

However, the fact they are unable to provide an update regarding reimbursement to customers two and half months after the delays in January is not acceptable.

If you are also struggling to get a response from Loganair regarding a filed claim for reimbursement, please contact Shetland News at news@shetnews.co.uk
