News / Tractor run postponed due to worsening weather forecast
A CHRISTMAS-themed tractor run scheduled for tonight (Tuesday) has been postponed due to forecasted high winds.
Shetland Young Farmers announced the event, which was due to run through Lerwick, has now been pushed back to Tuesday 16 December.
The organisers said it had been moved to ensure the safety of spectators.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from 3am to 11.59pm on Wednesday, and said strong winds could lead to some disruption.
As reported yesterday, NorthLink’s ferry sailings are set to be affected by the increasing winds today.
The Hrossey will sail from Aberdeen four hours early, leaving for Lerwick at 3pm instead of the usual 7pm sailing time.
The Hjaltland will also leave Lerwick Tuesday earlier, at 5.30pm instead of 7pm. Her arrival into Aberdeen on Wednesday morning may also be delayed by an hour.
Loganair has also advised passengers that flights may be affected by the weather, and offered them the chance to re-book.
