Letters / Obscure political points
I am still trying to get my mind around the point Alistair Carmichael is making in the Shetland News.
In trying to demonise the SNP he seems to be suggesting that UK control of fisheries funds (where Scotland only gets 8 per cent) is somehow better than a Scottish controlled fund, which has incidentally just awarded a grant of over £500,000 for an innovative lobster storage project.
To my mind it is very simple. In terms of this fisheries fund, the UK Government has yet again failed the Scottish industry only a few months after they sold the industry down the river with the appalling 12-year quota deal with the EU.
Why can the Lib Dems not join in the campaign to address this injustice instead of trying to score obscure political points.
