Man arrested after woman struck by car

THE A970 in Levenwick has now reopened following road accident this morning (Thursday).

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence, with enquiries now ongoing.

Police said a woman had been struck by a car at around 7.30am, with the incident happening shortly after they were called to an earlier crash in the same area.

The woman was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital for treatment.
