Transport / High winds disrupt ferry services
NorthLink Ferries cancels all sailings
SOME inter island ferry services are suspended this morning (Saturday) as northerly gale force winds batter the isles.
NorthLink Ferries announced this morning that all sailings on the Northern Isles routes are cancelled today (Saturday).
The Whalsay, Bluemull Sound and Skerries services are currently not running while Yell Sound and Bressay Sound are operating.
There is a warning that the Bressay and Yell services might be suspended later this morning as winds are forecast to increase.
Travellers are advised to check the various SIC ferry service voicemail numbers or refer to the Transportation Notifications on the Shetland News website.
