AN INJURED fisherman has been taken to hospital in Lerwick by the Sumburgh-based coastguard search and rescue helicopter.

The helicopter landed at the Clickimin site this afternoon after having been tasked to airlift the injured man from a French longliner 60 miles north of Unst.

The call for help came at 11.42am.

Police were in attendance to close the road for a short period of time to allow the helicopter to land safely.
