Linga back in action after fuel truck broke down onboard

A blue and white ferry named "Linga" docks at a rocky pier in a calm coastal area under a cloudy sky.

THE WHALSAY ferry service was reduced to one vessel this morning (Thursday) after an LHD fuel truck became stuck on the Linga

The brakes on the vehicle became stuck on, according to a message on the council’s ferry voicebank, leaving the Linga stuck in Vidlin.

The Hendra had to run the Whalsay-Laxo service on its own for over an hour from 10.30am.

However the Linga returned to service from 12pm, leaving Vidlin for Whalsay, with two ferries operating on the route from then on.
