Emergency services / Lifeboat and fire services called out to Virkie marina
LERWICK lifeboat was called out on Thursday afternoon briefly after a small boat moored at the marina in Virkie started taking in water.
The lifeboat was stood down before it reached the scene though as two fire appliances had arrived at the scene.
However, the fire service did not take any action or use any equipment after the owner managed to start a pump on board the vessel. The stop message came in around 3pm.
Meanwhile, one of the Sumburgh fire appliances was held up after slipping off the narrow single track road and into the ditch.
