Education / Skeld school to remain shut on Monday
SKELD Primary School will be closed to pupils on Monday (19 December), while Nesting is currently under review.
All other schools and early learning settings will be open on Monday.
Following three days of blanket closures due to the wintry weather a number of schools and early learning settings reopened today (Friday).
Travel restrictions and power outages may remain for a small number of settings but children’s services will be assessing this over the weekend with colleagues in the council’s roads and transport planning teams.
If there are any alterations to transport, this will be updated on the following voice banks:
- School transport voice bank 01595 745743
- Public bus services voice bank 01595 745744
The Eric Gray Resource Centre will also be open on Monday.
Children’s services director Helen Budge said: “I know how important it will be for schools and early learning centres to be open on Monday, if possible.
“I am sure everyone will understand if over the weekend the situation changes and we need to issue further updates, either on Saturday or Sunday. There has been a fantastic response from everyone to support the resumption of our schools and early learning services for which I continue to be very grateful.”
