Community / Fun day to be held as a ‘thank you’ to NHS staff

A ‘FAMILY fun day’ will be held at the Gilbertson Park in Lerwick later this month to say thank you to NHS Shetland staff for their work during the Covid pandemic.

The event will take place on Saturday 23 July between 10am and 3pm, featuring music, a raffle, face painting, a barbecue, game stalls and soft play.

The event is open to everyone, not just staff and their families.

NHS Shetland’s endowment committee chair Lincoln Carroll said: “One of the things staff have really missed through the pandemic is the ability to spend downtime together.

“We are therefore planning a family fun day to allow NHS staff and their families and friends to get together outside of work (and outside!) to enjoy some food, games and one another’s company.

“There will be lots to do, and I know the planning committee is looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event at Gilbertson Park.

“If anyone would like to volunteer to support the day, please get in touch with the committee at shet.midsummerfestival@nhs.scot.”
