Community / Folk asked to keep an eye out for adopted dog which went missing shortly after arriving in Lerwick
PEOPLE are being asked to keep a lookout for a dog which went missing from his new owner’s garden shortly after arriving in Shetland.
Nicky the dog arrived in Shetland on Friday morning off the boat but had escaped from his new home in Upper Sound in Lerwick by 9am.
He has a black collar with a black lead attached. His fur is black, brown and white.
Nicky is an elderly dog who was brought over from Romania earlier this year. The dog was fostered and was then transferred to Shetland to his “forever home”.
He is said to be a small dog who is “terrified of people” having been badly beaten and abused in Romania.
There has been a possible sighting of the dog at 2am this morning at Staney Hill.
Motorists are asked to be aware that he could potentially run on the road.
Anyone who sees the dog is asked to contact 07706 899285 or 07716 369535.
