Community / Temporary foodbank to open in Brae
A TEMPORARY foodbank is set to be held in Brae tomorrow morning (Friday).
The service will run from 10am to midday at the Brae Gospel Hall.
It is intended for anyone who is in need of basic food items during the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
Items are limited, and people are asked to take no more than two of any one item, and a maximum of 12 items in total.
People are asked to follow the social distancing guidelines of two metres between people. Only one person per household should enter the building at a time.
For people in isolation, or folk who cannot come alone, message Jessica on 07796 807265 to arrange delivery to your doorstep.
Shetland’s permanent foodbank in Lerwick, meanwhile, said on Wednesday that new volunteers had to be brought in to the Market Street premises due to existing staff having to be off work.
