Emergency services / Aith lifeboat assists three kayakers
THE AITH lifeboat was called on Sunday afternoon to come to the help of three kayakers in trouble between Muckle Roe and Vementry.
Shetland Coastguard said that one of men had suffered “multiple capsizes” and ended up in the cold and choppy sea.
His companions were able to get him ashore near the Muckle Roe light from where he was retrieved by the crew of the Aith lifeboat.
The coastguard spokesman said the man was cold but otherwise uninjured.
