Court / Teacher released on bail
A TEACHER from the Anderson High School has been released on bail after appearing on charges of making sexual advances to a schoolgirl.
Keiran Malcolmson, 33, of Sandwick, had his case continued without plea and has been ordered not to approach or contact the girl in any circumstances, at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Malcolmson is alleged to have kissed the girl on the mouth at Fort Road in Lerwick on 9 September and to repeatedly have asked her to accompany him to a “dark and secluded area”.
The charge against Malcolmson states that he was “in a position of trust” towards the girl, who was under 18 and “in his care”. He will appear next at Lerwick Sheriff Court on 27 March.
