News / Island Medics to return

The TV show will be back with a second series this month.

Some of the 'stars' of the first series of Island Medics.

A POPULAR daytime TV series focusing on Shetland’s healthcare professionals is set to return to screens later this month.

The second series of Island Medics is scheduled to start on BBC One on 12 November.

The first series was broadcast last year and it received warm praise as it explored the lives of staff working at the Gilbert Bain Hospital and beyond in Shetland.

It also shone a light on how the emergency services link into the healthcare system, such as the ambulance service and the coastguard.
