News / Whalsay welcomes new pelagic trawler

There were celebrations in Whalsay when the brand-new 82 metre long Serene, the largest fishing boat in the Shetland fleet, arrived at Symbister harbour on Saturday afternoon. Built for the Serene Fishing Company at Karstensen’s shipyard in Skagen, Denmark, the she is the eighth boat bearing the name Serene.
