Letters / PR benefits killed off
Douglas Young writes: “I was trying to imagine how the Famous Six could put a negative spin on the 56 SNP British MPS donating the salary increase imposed upon them to charity whilst Better Together political parties grabbed theirs with both paws”, (Happy days; SN, 20/07/15).
Taken at face value, Douglas, it might have been seen as commendable. However, as to putting a negative spin on it, I have no need to – you’ve done that yourself.
You clearly indicated that the SNP MPs gesture was simply a publicity stunt when you compared their action with the other parties’ acceptance of the pay rise, writing: “…whilst Better Together political parties grabbed theirs with both their paws.”
Alas, your crass comment has killed off any potential PR benefit, which might, otherwise, have accrued from it, to the SNP.
