Letters / Silence is consent
Thank you for Jonathan Wills’ astonishing outburst against Alistair Carmichael and Emma Macdonald.
Here is the supposedly offending passage:
“She (Emma) worked her way up, studying at the Open University to get her degree the hard way ….. after having children, and while balancing raising a family. She knows what it is like to face challenges, work hard and succeed.”
To recreate this as an attack on childlessness requires a degree of paranoia and/or good, old-fashioned malice.
The fact that Ms Goodlad’s own, positive letter and the two attacks on the “childlessness” theme all appeared within three hours of each other suggests co-ordination.
The sight of her husband backing Wills in the Facebook fray, “likes” from close family, and the absence of immediate condemnation from herself – let’s hope it comes – suggest it was also approved.
Silence is consent.
The Shetland electorate will see through this stunt and the ‘Law of Karma’ will apply at ballot boxes, tomorrow.
A vote for Goodlad is a vote for the same old SNP invariably rejected in the past.
