Letters / A fresh perspective on fishing?

The swift criticism from some corners regarding the UK-EU fishing deal is telling. The SNP’s predictable lament about

Westminster and calls for “wholly Scottish” management seem to conveniently forget their own fervent desire to rejoin the EU – a move that would undoubtedly surrender control to Brussels, not Scotland.

This fixation on Ted Heath merely highlights an SNP ideology stuck in a bygone era, much like the notion that a new, small country with a massive debt and poor credit rating would wield any real power in international negotiations.

Frankly, for the future of UK fishing, perhaps a fresh perspective, like that offered by Reform, is the only hope.
