Entertainment / BBC reveals more photos from new Shetland series

MORE photos from the upcoming ninth series of BBC crime drama Shetland have been released.

The first episode will be broadcast on BBC One on Wednesday 6 November.

Last year’s series averaged seven million viewers.

The new series, filmed in Shetland and across Scotland, will see Ashley Jensen and Alison O’Donnell return reprise their roles as detectives Ruth Calder and Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh.

The new series also sees the return of series regulars Steven Robertson (Sandy), Lewis Howden (Billy) and Anne Kidd (Cora), while actors Ian Hart (Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, The Responder) and Vincent Regan (Traces, Luther: The Fallen Sun, Aquaman) lead the guest cast.
