Man bailed after appearing at court on rape charge

A FIFTY seven year old man has been released on bail after appearing in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with rape and communicating indecently.

David Sherwood, whose address was given as Shetland, made no plea and was committed for further examination.

No date was given for his next appearance, and he was released on bail.
