Transport / Weather to affect ferry connections over coming days

SHETLAND will be without a ferry link for the next few days after Thursday night’s service from Aberdeen has been cancelled due to the poor forecast.

The Hjaltland will now only sail to Kirkwall on Thursday night and then return to Aberdeen the following night.

The next scheduled sailing to Lerwick is set to leave Aberdeen on Saturday at 5pm.

Serco NorthLink’s second passenger ferry Hrossey is currently in drydock in Rosyth.

Both cargo boat services have also be cancelled for Thursday and Friday.

Tonight’s (Wednesday) ferry to Aberdeen will sail as timetabled. The next scheduled southbound service will be on Sunday night.
