Emergency services / Man dies in quad bike accident
AN EIGHTY three year old man died in a quad bike accident in Shetland’s westside this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services, including coastguard volunteers, were called to the incident near Sand Voe at 1.15pm.
A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended and an 83–year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.”
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
