Energy / EnQuest given health and safety improvement notice after SVT ‘incident’
THE OPERATOR of Sullom Voe Terminal has received an improvement notice from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) following a recent incident at the site.
A spokesperson for the company said the notice concerns EnQuest’s “management of engineering change procedures in relation to temporary pipework cleaning at the site”.
“EnQuest is fully engaged with the HSE and has submitted a proposal which addresses the concerns raised by the notice,” the spokesperson added.
“EnQuest is confident the matter can be promptly resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.”
The improvement noticed was served against EnQuest Heather Ltd on 7 June.
It said EnQuest had “failed to adequately address temporary changes/modifications within [its] management of engineering change procedure”.
The notice lists two breaches of the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974, and another two breaches of the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015.
