A LANDSLIDE blocked much of the northbound lane of the A970 near the Vidlin junction earlier today (Sunday).

The police attended after the call came in at around 1.10pm, and the road was later cleared with the help of the council’s roads department.

A spokesperson for the police said in an update shortly before 4pm that the road was open in both directions and that there were no reports of any injuries.

It came after significant rainfall on Sunday morning.
