Community / Museum to reopen after heating fault
THE SHETLAND Museum and Archives will to reopen to the public tomorrow (Tuesday) after it was closed due to a fault with its heating system.
Operator Shetland Amenity Trust said the “fault has now been rectified and we are looking forward to welcoming the public back”.
The museum has been closed since 28 December as a result of the problem.
The Peerie Oorick exhibition I’ll Tell dee a Story currently on in Da Gadderie comes to a close on Wednesday (9 February), and there is also a trail through the museum galleries to find all the characters.
The picnic area is available too and “everyone is welcome to bring their own snacks”, the amenity trust said.
Meanwhile the trust has confirmed to Shetland News that it is in “ongoing discussions with a possible provider” for the Hay’s Dock Cafe area in the museum, which has not been in full use since 2020.
