Community / Tractors put on festive show in Unst
CROFTERS and farmers put on a festive show in Unst at the weekend in the island’s first Christmas tractor run.
Twelve tractors took part in the show on Sunday evening, travelling from the Unst Leisure Centre to the Baltasound Hall.
They were lit up in Christmas lights – with four taking trailers too.
There were also two trikes involved and a buggy.
One of the organisers Heather Gray said “everybody had a fantastic time” while raising some festive cheer.
Meanwhile a festive tractor run will also be taking place in Lerwick this week.
The Shetland Young Farmers group is hosting the event on Thursday (16 December).
It will start at the Marts at 7pm before travelling along the Esplanade, towards Tesco, past the Eric Gray centre, along Lochside and back up to the Marts.
Families are being encouraged to stand together and avoid forming large crowds.
Donations will also be collected on the route by stewards for Dogs Against Drugs.
