PEOPLE travelling to Unst next month have been advised that they may need to book their ferry trip in advance due to essential resurfacing works on the island’s roads.

The council’s roads service is planning to carry out these works over a two week period on 12-16 and 19-23 July.

During this time, ferries to the North Isles will be busier than usual with additional vehicles and materials needed for the works.

Any passengers travelling to Unst during this period are advised to book to ensure travel.

Bookings can be made online or by contacting the Ulsta booking office on 01595 745804.
