Entertainment / Dee to head north

COMEDIAN Jack Dee is set to perform in Shetland this summer as part of a Highlands and Islands warm-up tour.

Jack Dee is set to take the stage at Mareel on 13 July.

The English comedian will take to the stage at Mareel in Lerwick on Saturday 13 July.

Dee will be trying out new material for his forthcoming full UK tour.

“In these difficult and uncertain times people need hope – a ray of sunshine to brighten their day. And that’s very much where I come in,” the notoriously sour-faced comedian said.

Dee is a well-known face in British comedy, appearing on TV shows like Live at the Apollo, The Jack Dee Show, Shooting Stars and Have I Got News for You.

Tickets for the Mareel date will go on sale via the Shetland Arts box office from 10am on Thursday.

The tour is being organised by Ullapool based promoter Beyond Presents.
