Assault allegations

A MAN was released on bail after appearing from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday on a petition alleging assault to severe injury and permanent impairment.

Thomas Currie, of the Shetland mainland, was also charged with assault to injury and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The 26 year old appeared in private, made no plea and was committed for further examination.
