News / Repairs on burst main
REPAIRS will be carried out this evening [Monday] on a burst water main on Lerwick’s South Road.
A one-way system will be in operation from 6pm around Sandveien. The burst 12-inch water main is located between Westerloch and Nedersund Road.
The traffic management system will see vehicles which are leaving town exit via Kantersted Road and Nedersund Road, while people driving into town will be able to use South Road as usual.
There may also be an impact on travel in the morning. Scottish Water has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
In December, a mains pipe burst on South Road near the Sound Service Station, causing the road to be flooded.
