News / Road work postponed
THE PLANNED closure of the main road heading north out of Lerwick to allow surface dressing work to take place has been postponed due to weather.
The three-laned section of the A970 road was due to be shut on Sunday, but rain meant that the work couldn’t take place. It will now be completed at a later date in the summer.
Surface dressing will continue to take place in Lerwick and the central mainland before heading north next week.
