Power off after pole fire

AROUND 400 properties in Unst lost electricity overnight on Friday after a pole caught fire.

Power went off at around 10.50pm and engineers had to wait until the first ferry in the morning to fix the problem, although the fire service had already been tasked.

SSE confirmed that after restoring power to most customers by 7am on Saturday, all properties were back on by 10.40am.
