News / Award for enterprising Gavin
AN ENTREPRENEUR from Shetland has won recognition at the WeDo Scotland Business Awards for his new Edinburgh-based social media agency.
Gavin Bell, whose father Malcolm is convener of Shetland Islands Council, scooped the “new start business of the year” award for his company Blue Cliff Media.
Originally from Lerwick, Gavin moved south at 18 to study in Manchester and moved to Edinburgh in 2014.
The WeDo annual award ceremony took place on Friday (18 November) at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, with over 180 Scottish entrepreneurs in attendance.
Gavin, now 22, said: “It’s an absolute honour to have won new start business of the year. I launched Blue Cliff Media 18 months ago now and to have our achievements formally recognised is amazing.
“It gives me the confidence that what we’re doing is actually working and sets us in good stead going into 2017!”
