News / Walking for Children in Need
A GROUP of friends from Sumburgh are planning to complete a 20-mile walk to raise funds for the BBC Children in Need appeal later this month.
Marianne Robertson, Lucy Saether, Amanda Smith and Caitlin Ward will be setting off from Mainland’s shop in Dunrossness at 8am on 18 November before walking along the A970 to the Clickimin Leisure Centre, in Lerwick.
Robertson said: “I have organised this to raise money for Children in Need, because I feel it’s a charity that everyone cares for, as no matter how little is donated it will help a child out in some way.
“It’s an excellent charity and I’m determined to raise loads for them!”
Robertson can be contacted via her Facebook page. The group of four can be supported along the way or by donating online at http://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/mariannerobertson1#donationSummary
