News / Commercial Street crash

POLICE in Lerwick are appealing for witnesses after a van struck a parked car outside the Royal Bank of Scotland on the town’s Commercial Street.

A police spokesman said a small “Caddie-type van” was reported to have hit an unattended blue Toyota Auris at around 2.45pm on Wednesday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to phone the police on 101.

The incident came as police issued a warning to drivers not to use Commercial Street during pedestrian-only hours.
